The HIP4081A is a high frequency, medium voltage full-bridge N-channel FET driver IC in 20-pin plastic SOIC and DIP packages. The HIP4081A can drive all possible switch combinations except those that would result in a shoot-through condition. The HIP4081A can switch at frequencies up to 1MHz, making it ideal for driving voice coil motors, high frequency switching power amplifiers and power supplies. For example, a HIP4081A can drive a medium-voltage brushed motor, and two HIP4081As can be used to drive a high-performance stepper motor because the shortest minimum on-time provides fine microstepping capability. A short propagation delay of approximately 55ns maximizes control loop crossover frequency and dead time, which can be tuned to near zero to minimize distortion, enabling fast, precise control of the driven load.
