Despite the current high demand for biometric smart cards in encrypted wallets, a study by ABI Research predicts that in an optimistic scenario, as many as 140 million biometric payment proximity cards will be issued in 2025 to satisfy consumers in personal payment. The demand for more convenient and secure biometric identification in transactions. In everyday life, biometric card holders can verify their identity simply by placing their finger on the card's sensor and touching the card to a terminal. TrustSEC will meet the growing demand for biometric smart cards, especially in the payment sector.

Magdy Sharawy, CEO of TrustSEC, said: "We are committed to providing our customers with a leading edge by porting our own operating system to the most powerful and promising chip of our partner Infineon to achieve continuous improvement of the operating system. One stop solution."

Franck Ferrandino, Senior Marketing Director, Secure Connected Systems Business Unit, Infineon Technologies, said: "Infineon offers a broad and rapidly expanding product portfolio, which demonstrates Infineon's leading position in shaping the secure element and smart card market. Some issuers and services Providers favor standardized payment applications based on a new modern smart card operating system, so cooperation with partners, especially TrustSEC, was crucial to meet their new white label requirements for the operating system. This is why Infineon chose The reason for using TrustSEC's BIO-SLCOS as the latest chipset."

BIO-SLCOS is a smart card operating system representing the latest technology of smart cards. It combines security, flexibility, and hardware independence into one platform. The new BIO-SLCOS enables application providers to take advantage of the latest addition to Infineon's SLC family of Secure Elements – adding a fingerprint recognition security layer with BIO-SLCOS. Therefore, the entire biometric authentication can be completed inside Infineon's new SLC38 secure element.

The OS solution is based on Infineon's SLC38 hardware and builds data integrity on advanced security features tested by third-party labs. In addition to managing the file system and I/O, the operating system interacts with various applications. All products in the SLC range are certified with the highest safety certification rating CC EAL 6+.

In addition to supporting contact, contactless, dual interface, and USB interfaces, BIO-SLCOS can also preload or edit fixed applications or enable application upload after using the card manager module. Smart cards with BIO-SLCOS can also run multiple applications simultaneously. Alternatively, the solution activates the card based on the biometric information provided, or sometimes authenticates the transaction if the card is already activated.
